The Chamoniarde: Security Training summer 2022

Each mountain practitioner is invited to learn or review the basics of mountain safety through field training offered by the Mountain Prevention and Rescue Society "The Chamoniarde".

Trainings, moreover, are partly subsidized by the association, so that they remain accessible to the greatest number of trainees.

Registration from 9 May 2022: ROCHER SECURITY WEEKEND

A "weekend" training to learn and revise basic rope maneuvers for climbing safety, and to evolve safely on rocky terrain.

• Rates: € 170 / trainee
• Duration: 2 days (accommodation in the Chamonix Mont-Blanc Valley, to be provided by the trainees)
• Supervision: 2 High-Mountain Guides, trainers from the Chamoniarde
• Group of 8 people (4 people per guide)

In the program:

• Making relays (adventure terrain and cliff): pythons, wedges, friends, spits ... and triangulation
• Fall factor: relay protection, draw management, insurance points
• Insurance
• "Escape" maneuvers, fortune teller
• First aid on the wall

WEEKEND INTRODUCTION TO HIGH MOUNTAIN SURVIVAL

Training to learn how to organize an impromptu bivouac in the high mountains, how to optimize its equipment and resources and update its knowledge of glacial safety.

• Rates: € 120 / trainee
• Duration: 2 days (accommodation: outside !!!)
• Supervision: 1 High-Mountain Guide, a trainer from the Chamoniarde
• Group of 6 people

In the program:

Modes of stringing on glacial terrain, construction of Igloo, principle of installation of bivouacs on vires, presentation of the bottom material of the bag, awareness of the risks related to the night at altitude (edema, frost, hypothermia ...), water recovery, snow use, carto and new digital tools for orientation, meteorology, storm strategies…

WEEKEND GLACIER SECURITY

A two-day glacier safety training with a night in a hut. The goal is to update your mountaineering skills, more specifically focusing on glacier travelling and safety, and basic rope techniques. 

• Rates: € 150 / trainee (excluding ski lifts, overnight stay and meals)
• Duration: 2 days (overnight in a hut for the trainee but booked by the Chamoniarde)
• Supervision: 2 High-Mountain Guides, trainers from the Chamoniarde 
• Group of 10 people (5 people per guide)
