Linking the Italian town of Courmayeur with Punta Herbronner on the southern side of the Mont Blanc massif, the Skyway Monte Bianco cable car is truly a unique combination of the wonders of nature and the cutting edge technology. It is sure to provide visitors with the experience of a lifetime.
Skyway Monte Bianco
Opened in 2015, the Skyway Monte Bianco constitutes an extreme engineering challenge which offers memorable experiences and takes visitors up to 3,500 m, among the eternal ice of Mont Blanc.
Immersed in a breathtaking landscape which elevates one’s senses to new heights, Skyway Monte Bianco covers three futuristic stations which offer restaurants, bars, cultural and entertaining services.
The departure point of the cable car is Pontal – Courmayeur (1,300 m), where the ticket office, parking facilities and a small coffee shop are located.
The second stop is at Pavillon du Mont Fréty (2,200 m), which hosts the winery Cave Mont Blanc, a conference room for up to 150 people and a special shopping area.
Then, the cable car ascends to the spectacular altitude of 3,466 m at its final stop, Punta Helbronner, where the splendour of Mont Blanc can be admired from the 360-degree panoramic terrace. There is also a bistro here and the permanent wonderful exhibition of crystals.
From the last station of the cable car, Rifugio Torino is easily accessible. Also, from Punta Helbronner one can depart on one of the several hiking trails which lead all the way to Chamonix, such as the Toula, the Marbrées, the 24-Km-Vallée Blanche routes.
Skyway Monte Bianco offers four panoramic semi-spherical cabins which gently rotate a full 360 degrees for the duration of the ascent and allow visitors to grasp the splendour of Mont Blanc and the surrounding peaks, such as the Matterhorn, Monte Rosa and the Gran Paradiso.
The construction works for the Skyway Monte Bianco cable car began on the 10th of April 2012 and were concluded on 29th of May 2015. Skyway Monte Bianco has been opened to the general public since the 30th of May 2015.
Timetable of the cable car
Skyway Monte Bianco cable cars depart every 15 minutes. On busy days, cable cars run more frequently or non-stop.
To avoid gatherings and queues at the counters, throughout the summer tickets must be purchased exclusively online, with reservations required and free of charge.
Arrival at the departure station 15 minutes before the booked time of the ascent.
The stay in Punta Helbronner will be limited to an hour and a half from the departure time from Courmayeur. The descent from Pavillon will be free.
The only Skynautes exempted from the time limit in Punta Helbronner are climbers and holders of a voucher for a food experience.
Times are subjectable to changes due to technical reasons and atmospheric requirements.

Skyway reductions
All reductions are only valid on tickets purchased in Pontal (Courmayeur) upon presentation of proof of identity, or online.
There are no discounts for conferences and meetings.
- Children 0-7 years old only if the purchase in contextual to an adult: Free ticket;
- Children 8-17 years old: 30% reduction;
- Groups (minimum 20 people and up) only on round-trip tickets (August not included): 15% reduction + 1 free ticket every 20 purchased;
- Disabled people (of at least 70% with a certificate): 50% reduction;
Dogs are allowed up on Punta Helbronner with a muzzle and on a lead: € 7.00
