Tennis and Squash in Chamonix
The word "tennis" comes from the French word "tenez" meaning to hold or to keep. Early French players were known to start a game by yelling "tenez!" The English soon morphed this into "tennis".
There are two Tennis and Squash centres in the Chamonix valley: Richard Bozon Center in Chamonix Town and the Tennis des Iles in Argentiere.
It is recommended that you book ahead to ensure a slot on the tennis courts, for contact information see below.

Indoor Tennis:
1-hour tennis session for 2 people: €17.80
Squash: 9€/court.
Outdoor Tennis:
1 hour Quick for 2 people: €17.80
1-hour session on the dirt floor for 2 people: €25.70

The Tennis des Iles centre is located between Chamonix centre and Argentière and offers 2 covered tennis courts and 1 squash court. Lessons and racquet rentals are also available.
