Chamonix will host the alpine skiing and ice hockey if Annecy wins 2018 Olympic bid - Chamonix news

Today we find out that Chamonix is the pretender for the alpine skiing and ice hockey events. Other Mont Blanc and Grand Massif resorts: Flaine: snowboarding Megève: ice hockey Saint-Gervais: curling, ice hockey finals Les Portes du Soleil: Morzine-Avoriaz: alpine skiing Annecy and Aravis region: Annecy: speedskating, figure skating, La Clusaz = cross country skiing, ski jumping, nordic events, freestyle Grand Bornand: biathlon Savoie Macôt-la-Plagne: bobsleigh, luge, Saint-Gervais and Argonay-Pringy and proposed as the two Olympic villages. The Roche-sur-Foron would be the international press centre. Of course all of this depends on the selection of Annecy-Haute Savoie as the French candidate and France's decision to run as a 2018 host. Annecy has until the 21st of January to complete its proposal. Then the French Olympic committee will make its decision in March.
