After a final inspection of the course this morning, Tuesday April 23rd 2013, the five skiers involved in the attempt to take the record for the fastest descent of Mont Blanc, decided to suspend the project that was scheduled for Wednesday morning.
A lack of snow on the lower slopes, close to the entrance to the Mont-Blanc tunnel, after the recent snow melt, would not allow them to break the record.
The planned descent from the summit of Mont Blanc (4810 m) to the center of Chamonix, by ski and bike, is postponed until conditions are suitable.
