Chamonix: more expensive ski lifts for winter 2023/24 and summer 2024

Balme Le Tour gondola Chamonix

The Compagnie du Mont-Blanc is increasing its prices for winter 2023-2024 and summer 2024. The justification is the investments in new lift systems, the price of electricity and inflation.

Historically. the Compagnie du Mont-Blanc has marketed its services with more than 600 prices depending on the audience, the location, the period, the term and the purchase device.

To simplify matters, for winter 2023-2024, a new ski pass will be offered, the Mont-Blanc Multipass. This new ski pass is not yet available for purchase on the Compagnie du Mont-Blanc website.

From 21 October 2023 to 30 November 2023, season and annual passes can be purchased on their marketing website www.montblancnaturalresort.com

Generally speaking, the contract that binds the municipality to the ski lifts includes a clever calculation that governs price increases, indexed to consumer prices, energy and the cost of the building. Thus, the Compagnie du Mont-Blanc could have increased its prices by 13.86%. Finally, the packages increase for this winter by + 7.5% for the Chamonix Le Pass (CLP) and + 8.79% for the Mont-Blanc Unlimited (MBU).
It will be €75 for a round trip to the Aiguille du Midi in winter.

For next winter, the Compagnie du Mont-Blanc highlights an evolution of its prices between + 3.03% and 4.73%, with the exception of Flégère at + 7.79% which returns to the level of Brévent . For the summer, the change will be from +3.99% to +5.27%. Here again, Flégère is catching up with Plan Praz and sees its prices increase by +8.53%.

Concretely, the Chamonix round trip to Plan-Praz or to La Flégère will cost €23 for pedestrians. For Brévent or Index, the excursion will cost €39.50. In the same way on the Balme area, the round trip to the intermediate will be charged €23 and you will have to pay €38 for the summit of Autannes.

The Aiguille du Midi remains the attraction of Chamonix. The winter rate increases by +3.42%. The adult round trip therefore goes from €73 to €75 (the same price as this summer). In the summer version for 2024, it will be another €3 more at €78.
For winter 2023-2024, it is creating a new package, the Mont-Blanc Multipass.

The real novelty of these prices is the creation for the winter of a new pass, the Mont-Blanc Multipass. This already exists in the summer. “This package allows us to defend our desire to offer incentive rates in order to encourage customers to stay in Chamonix” explains Antoine Burnet, the commercial director of the Compagnie du Mont-Blanc. The second day of visit is therefore €15, “this price does not change from one year to the next” points out Antoine Burnet.
