Chamonix: the spring skiing promises to be of high quality

After a dry winter, snowfall at altitude over the past two weeks has once again provided superb conditions for skiers on the highest slopes of the Chamonix ski areas.

Make the most of these spring vacations

The snowfall at altitude allows the ski areas of Chamonix to approach serenely these spring holidays. An opportunity that should allow ski areas to extend the opening time and make the most of the spring holidays which begin this Saturday 8 April 2023.

Le Brévent ski area opening period extended by one week

Le Brévent ski area and its cable car will remain open for one week longer than initially planned, until 23 April. Check out here the timetables of the ski lifts

The Grands Montets ski area 

At les Grands Montets, the season will not end until 1st May. Check out here the timetables of the ski lifts

As usual, the Grands Montets area will offer its Freeride Day for the last day of the season. A day of celebration where the ski pass only costs 10 euros and where a series of challenges are organized by the trackers. The theme for this year is “La Feria”.

La Vallée Blanche

Thanks to its ski lifts allowing quick access to the high mountains and to open Huts, Chamonix offers superb ultimate sliding sessions to a clientele of good skiers.

La Vallée Blanche: the off-piste should be well attended throughout the month of April.

Les Houches ski area

Les Houches: the slopes will close after this Easter weekend, those of Flégère and Balme will remain open until Sunday 16 April. Check out here the timetables of the ski lifts

The Balme ski area 

Domaine de Balme: a day before the closure of the season, the Domaine de Balme organizes a festive event that offers the possibility of taking part in a duo giant slalom. Check out here the timetables of the ski lifts

This weekend 8 and 9 April: Cross the line and the Unlimited Festival 2023

This weekend, thrill-seeking skiers will also be able to participate in the "Cross the line competition", a race combining freeride and skicross postponed to this Saturday 8 April.

The other skiers will be surrounded by music at Planpraz, thanks to the Unlimited Festival which will offer a subtle mix of electronic music, skiing and other festivities. Click here to read our article from Monday 3 April 2023.
