La Vormaine, Beginners Ski Area in Le Tour, Chamonix Valley
La Vormaine Ski Area is located at the village of Le Tour, 1464m. Enjoy the experience of skiing at the foot of the Tour glacier with a stunning view of the Mont-Blanc mountains!
La Vormaine is the largest complete beginners area in the Chamonix Valley, but there is more to it than that. The Ducroz family and La Vormaine team provide debutant skiers with the latest innovations in a safe environment.
La Vormaine has 4 drag lifts:
- V1 260m long, 700 people/hour and 40m elevation gain;
- V2 680m long, 800 people/hour and 110m elevation gain;
- V3 735m long, 800 people/hour and 145m elevation gain;
- MV 130m long, 500 people/hour and 20m of elevation gain.
There are 2 green runs, ideal for learning how to ski or snowboard, and a blue run for intermediate skiers.
Freestyle Area: An equipped and safe area where beginners can test their moves for the first time.
Free Area: Here you can find a mini drag lift for beginners of all ages. With a ski pass you can access this area all day. Colourful games for children are included, they can learn to ski and have fun at the same time!
Snack Bar: Available at the snack bar are hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, hotdogs, grilled cheese sandwiches, fries, pasta, ice cream and crepes. Enjoy a breathtaking view of the Chamonix Valley and its mountains, while relaxing on the terrace.
Access Information: two large parking areas are located near the ski area: one is at the entrance of Le Tour village and the second one is at the base of La Vormaine. To avoid the mountain roads and the time spent looking for a parking space, take the Chamonix ski bus: free for those who have a ski pass!
Opening Hours:
Opening on 22nd December 2018, every day from 09:00 to 16:30 until 8th February 2019.
From 9th February 2019, every day from 09:00 to 17:00.
