Aiguille du Midi Cable Car to Reopen on May 16, 2020

Mathieu Dechavanne, the CEO of Compagnie du Mont-Blanc, talks about "Asian" conditions, namely: compulsory masks, temperature measurement with electronic terminals, cabin capacity reduced by half.

Drastic measures

From May 16, weekends only, to start.

The CMB purchased 100,000 masks. "Coming with your own mask is preferable, but we can provide it", explains the CEO.
In the cable cars, there will be 30 people allowed, instead of 80. For the Montenvers train, while the maximum capacity is 200 people, it will be limited to 80.

The Company encourages online booking to limit checkouts. Reservations should be opened a few days before, around May 13, the Company will specify the precise date in a further press release.

This reopening will be done provided that Haute-Savoie is in green on the circulation map of the virus - which is currently the case even if the occupancy rate of resuscitation beds places the department in orange for the summary map . The recovery is obviously suspended to the final decisions of the government.
