The Compagnie du Mont-Blanc, in partnership with the Mountain Riders association, is organizing a waste collection operation at the Balme site this Tuesday, 19 September 2023.
In case of bad weather, it will be postponed to Thursday 28 September 2023. This collection is part of the Adopt'1 Spot programme and takes place twice a year for three years in the same area.
Those interested in participating in this major clean-up should arrive at the base station in Le Tour at 8 am. The defined cleaning area is located near the G2 Charamillon, restaurants and under the TDS Les Autannes line.
Once the waste is collected, it is classified by type, weighed, recycled if possible, etc. The objective is to understand what are the main types of discarded packaging and other items that are found in the mountains in order to identify actions to reduce them.
