On Saturday 17 June, Hillary Gerardi set off for the roof of Europe at 2:02 a.m. For the mountaineering part, she found Valentine Fabre on her route and went through the north ridge of the Goûter dome. The American athlete, living in the Chamonix valley, was back in Chamonix and in front of the Saint-Michel church at 9:30 a.m.
She set a new confirmed time and a new women’s record of 7 hours 25 minutes. It beats Emelie Forsberg’s 2018 time by about 20 minutes.
